Public Health Nurse (External)

Temporary Part-time (0.60 FTE)

Summary:

We have an opening for a temporary part-time (0.60 FTE) PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE starting January 2, 2025 to December 31, 2025 on the Sexual Health/Harm Reduction Team. The position will be based from our Clinton office. 

Education:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing

Skills:            

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent time management and organizational skills
  • able to work independently and in a team setting
  • proficient computers skills, including familiarity with Windows, Microsoft office programs and use of the Internet
  • experience working with Databases (iPHIS, Accuro/EMR)
  • Sexual Health/Harm Reduction clinical experience
  • Case and Contact Management experience (STBBIs specifically is an asset)

Conditions:

  • terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the ONA Collective Agreement
  • successful candidates must obtain and maintain a satisfactory vulnerable sector check
  • immunizations in accordance with Board Policy/Collective Agreements including annual influenza and COVID-19 immunizations unless medically contra indicated
  • successful candidates must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a safe and well-maintained vehicle suitable for carrying out duties on behalf of the employer

Hours:

Usually 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Monday to Friday (some evenings and weekends may be required)

Wage:

$38.58 – $52.13 per hour (2025 wages)

Program Administrative Assistant (Internal/External)

Temporary Part-time (0.80 FTE/28 hours per week)

Summary:

We have an opening for a temporary part-time 0.80 FTE (28 hours per week) PROGRAM ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT starting January 2025 and ending April 22, 2025. This position will provide reception coverage at our West Gore office.

Education:

  • secondary school diploma
  • advanced knowledge of Word and Excel
  • electronic databases is an asset

Skills/Competencies:

  • experience providing excellent customer service preferably in a reception role
  • ability to exercise diplomacy and tact while working with the public
  • ability to learn new software programs quickly and efficiently
    accurate documentation and data entry skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy
    ability to collaborate and work on multiple competing priorities within a team setting
  • previous work within health-related Ministry databases an asset
