  • HPPH Looking for Dog Involved in an Incident in Goderich

    Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is looking for a dog involved in an incident on August 8, 2025, that took place approximately between 9:30am and 10:30am in the Town of Goderich. The incident took place at the intersection of Courthouse Square and Montreal Street.

  • Multi-Day Heat Event Expected for Huron-Perth

    A multi-day heat event in Huron and Perth is anticipated to start Saturday afternoon and will likely continue until Tuesday, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). Maximum temperatures of 31°C with humidex values in the mid to high 30’s as well as overnight low temperatures near 20 °C are expected. Daytime maximum temperatures are forecast to increase on Sunday.

  • Low-cost Rabies Vaccination Clinics Return for Limited Time

    Blyth Veterinary Services and Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) are once again partnering to offer three low-cost rabies vaccination clinics.

    The rabies vaccination clinics will be held at these locations and times:

    Blyth Veterinary Services, 234 Queen St. S., Blyth:

    • Friday, August 8 from 1–4 p.m.
    • Saturday, August 9 from 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

    St. Helen’s Community Hall, 85656 St. Helen’s Line:

    • Wednesday, September 3 from 1–4 p.m.
  • HPPH Advises of Measles Community Exposure

    Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is advising the community of a new measles exposure. The exposure occurred at the following location, date and time:

    Seaforth Community Hospital – Emergency Department Waiting Room and Outpatient Imaging |
    24 Centennial Dr., Seaforth

    Monday, July 28, 2025 | 12:10 p.m.- 2:14 p.m.

    Anyone who was at this location during the timeframe needs to monitor for measles signs and symptoms for 21 days after exposure.

  • Special Air Quality Statement Issued for Areas Across Huron and Perth Counties

    On July 30 at 6:58pm, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a Special Air Quality Statement for:

    • Wingham - Blyth - Northern Huron County, Ont.
    • Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County, Ont.
    • Goderich - Bluewater - Southern Huron County, Ont.
    • Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County, Ont.

    Wildfire smoke from forest fires over the Prairies has moved into the area and is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility in these areas. The poor air quality may persist through the day and is expected to improve later today.

  • Special Air Quality Statement Issued for Parts of Huron and Perth Counties

    On Sunday, July 13, 2025, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a Special Air Quality Statement for:

    • Wingham, Blyth, Northern Huron County, Goderich, Bluewater, Southern Huron County
    • Listowel, Milverton, Northern Perth County, Stratford, Mitchell, Southern Perth County

    Wildfire smoke from forest fires over Northern Ontario has moved into the area and is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility in these areas. The poor air quality may persist through the day Monday, July 14, and possible into Tuesday, July 15 in some areas.

  • HPPH Releases Annual Report

    Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is pleased to announce that the HPPH 2024 Annual Report is now available online. This report showcases the programs and services HPPH delivered in 2024 to protect and promote population health and prevent disease, strengthening quality of life and well-being for all.

  • Heat Warning in Effect for Huron Perth

    Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a heat warning for Huron Perth. A heat event is expected Saturday to Sunday (July 5-6, 2025), coming to an end Sunday night.

    Daytime high temperatures will be 31 to 33 degrees Celsius with a humidex of 40. Overnight lows of 21 to 25 degrees Celsius are forecast, providing little relief from the heat.

  • Take Precautions During Hot, Humid Conditions

    A multi-day heat event is expected this weekend, starting Sunday, June 22, 2025. Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) encourages residents to be prepared and to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
