Health Unit Looking for Dog Involved in a Biting Incident in Stratford

Huron Perth – Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is looking for a dog involved in a biting incident in Stratford.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 24, 2023 between 3 and 4 p.m. at the back entrance of the Stratford Courthouse at 1 Huron Street, Stratford.

The dog involved in the biting incident is described as a mixed breed, with short hair, 60-70 pounds, with a black body, with grey on the face, tan legs and a white triangle on the forehead above the eyes.

The owner is described appearing to be in her 30's, had dark brown hair in a bun and was wearing sunglasses and pink baggy pants (bohemian-style) and sandals.

HPPH is investigating this incident to verify if the dog is up-to-date on its rabies vaccination. If the dog is not found, the person who was bitten may need to complete a series of rabies shots.

HPPH reminds people to always obtain the contact information of the owners of the animal involved in a biting incident.
